Das ätherische Öl wird aus dem Benzoe-Harz gewonnen und mit Alkohol zu einer viskosen Flüssigkeit verrührt, daher ist es auch zähflüssig und klebrig.

Es kann gut bei empfindlicher und pflegebedürftiger Haut eingesetzt werden. Trockene, reife Haut macht es elastischer. 
Ebenso ist es ein wichtiger Bestandteil in Parfums.
